Scolari promises a victory for Palmeiras in 15 days RIO DE JANEIRO, July 26 (Xinhua) -2010
Palmeiras head coach Luis Felipe Scolari promised on Monday to transform the team into a winning side in 15 days. He has yet to win a game on Brazilian soil since taking over Palmeiras, which has not won a road game yet in this year's Brazilian Championship while having tied three times and lost twice. The team currently stands in tenth place with 14 points. "We have had a lot of problems. I hope to receive some reinforcements soon. The team is growing and we are evolving. You can expect us to win plenty of points at home and on the road with 10 to 15 days," said an optimistic Scolari.
Scolari hoped to receive Chilean striker Valdivia within the next couple of days. Valdivia previously played for Palmeiras before he went for Al-Ain of the United Arab Emirates. In the 12th round of the Brazilian Championship, Palmeiras will host Corinthians on August 1.
